The Strike Sub Club's Mixed Martial Arts Team returns from Las Vegas's Tuff-n-Uff amateur MMA event on 11-27-09 with 2 out of 3 wins. Jordan Wright was first up in his MMA debut, sealing his victory to Justin Rote in 35 seconds with a flying triangle. Victor Henry dominated Cory Jeffers for 2 rounds with a technical display of wrestling and ground and pound. Leaving Jeffers unable to answer the 3rd round. Cory Jeffers stated to his corner, "I can't see anything". Kate McGray headlining the card, fought a great fight, going all 3 rounds to a decision to Latasha Marzola. Look for the rematch next year!

CONGRATULATIONS TO KEENAN LEWIS
Strike Sub Club wrestling coach Keenan Lewis was recently ranked
the #1 Pankration fighter in the 140 lbs weight class in the Western Region United States.
Sources:
As the sold-out crowd at the Orleans Ballroom in Las Vegas began
raining down boos on the judges, talented up-and-comer Victor Henry
(2-1) learned a lesson the hard way: never let the fight go to the
judges' scorecards. Henry, a 135-pounder fighting out of the Strike
Sub Club in Los Angeles, came tantalizingly close to finishing his
opponent - Filipino MMA's very game Gor Mnatsakanyan (3-0) - twice in
the bout, but it wasn't enough to win. In round one, Henry weathered
a flurry of punches, survived a takedown, and locked in an inverted
triangle that transitioned into an armbar. Round two was mainly a
standup battle with both fighters landing combos. Round three went to
the ground once again and Mnatsakanyan found himself trapped in a
tight rear naked choke for the better part of 30 seconds.
Unfortunately for Henry, the Tuff Nuff organization's rounds are only
two minutes long and his opponent was able to survive until the bell
rang. The judges scored the fight a unanimous decision in favor of
Mnatsakanyan, a result that had the crowd (and the ring girls) booing
lustily. Despite the controversy, the result will stand. It was a
tough, frustrating loss for Henry but one that will ultimately make
him mentally stronger: he's already training hard for his next bout in
October.
